Drone Cover Crop Spreading
Improve soil health and reduce erosion - fly on cover crops prior to harvest with Venture Ag Drones. This new technology gives us fresh ways to enhance farm ecosystems for our Central Wisconsin neighbors.
Drone Advantage
One of the biggest factors in agriculture is time and with Wisconsin's shorter growing season, implementing a cover crop can be difficult. But now there’s a solution to this problem; pre-harvest aerial application leading to healthier soil and a more sustainable farming practice:
Erosion Control: Cover crops provide a protective layer on the soil surface, reducing wind and water erosion.
Water Infiltration: Improved soil structure from cover crops enhances water infiltration, reducing runoff.
Increased Organic Matter: They add organic matter to the soil as they decompose, improving soil structure, water-holding capacity, and nutrient availability.
Reduced Compaction: Their root systems help to break up compacted soil and create channels for air and water movement.
Increased Biodiversity: Cover crops can enhance biodiversity by providing habitat for beneficial insects, pollinators, wildlife and other organisms.
Our Drone cover crop spreading Services
Venture Ag Drone’s Agras T50 drones can apply liquid and granular products. Granular products can have a diameter of 0.5-5 mm and each drone’s hopper capacity is 110 lbs.
We offer tailored drone spreading solutions for Antigo Wisconsin. Each seed type is individually calibrated for weight and swath and can then be spread into standing crop prior to harvest in the late summer/fall or in the spring for frost seeding. Popular crop types we spread include:
